Chaos Computer Conference in Berlin

The annual Chaos Computer Conference took place between Xmas and New Year in Berlin, and I wandered along to the closing day just to take in the atmosphere a bit. In the past my attendance has been more assiduous but the event is a touch too fetischistically technical for my tastes, and where is a political dimension it is overdetermined by a privacy perspective.

  1. The interesting political dimensions you find there are usually not presented as any kind of politics, but as scattered reflections inside “fetischistically technical” presentations. Hard to track which of them, though…

Coming over to Berlin tomorrow afternoon. Se you soon!

  2. I was there in Berlin at Chaos and thought the conference was a mixture of insight. I am a female geneticist so enjoyed the game simulation for epidemiology studies, however much of the technical hack sessions made my head hurt…

FYI: We are debating intellectual property in the state of Kansas right now and we have set an important national precedent in our courts which says even professor’s lectures are their property. I have a patent pending on some of my research so this is very timely.

    Enjoy your forays into enology…
